ArcelorMittal Spending $57M on Macon Plant
ArcelorMittal Building Solutions is investing $57 million in its new headquarters in Macon. ArcelorMittal Building Solutions designs and develops building enclosures used to insulate and protect commercial properties, warehouses, and data centers.
The headquarters development marks the firm’s launch in North America. Construction is scheduled to start during the second half of this year, with operations expected to begin during the second half of 2027.
The company will host its operations and manufacturing activities at the new project, where there will also be a training facility. A partnership including Georgia Department of Economic Development, Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, Georgia EMC and Georgia Quick Start are developing the upcoming project.
The project will be at the Airport South Industrial Park. It is managed by Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority.
The new operation will build on ArcelorMittal’s longstanding presence in the United States, which includes steelmaking, finishing, manufacturing, research and development, and sales/support locations that employ more than 3,200 people across nine states.
