Amazon Celebrates Opening of New Public Open Space at Site of Future Tower
Amazon recently celebrated the debut of The Meadow, a 1.75-acre open space located at its Bellevue 600 office development at 633 110th Avenue NE, a new public gathering space in the heart of downtown.
The space is located directly across from the Bellevue Transit Center, and the site sits on land designated for a future second Amazon office tower. For now, the space has been developed as an interim outdoor destination intended to serve the public during the gap between construction phases.
While much of The Meadow will eventually be redeveloped when the second tower moves forward, a permanent pedestrian pathway connecting the two buildings will remain, along with a featured art installation.
“Amazon’s vision in Bellevue has always been to grow alongside this community,” said Sean Lee, vice president of corporate real estate & facilities at Amazon. “Rather than closing off this site between development, we wanted to open it up—the Meadow gives the community a space to gather and enjoy right now.”
