Sub-Zero Announces $196M Expansion of Cedar Rapids Facility
Sub-Zero Group, Inc. announced plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The $196 million expansion will add approximately 230,000 square feet to the company’s existing 600,000-square-foot facility and is expected to create 312 new jobs, bringing total employment at the site to more than 500.
The project is expected to enhance production capacity while further integrating advanced manufacturing technologies into the facility. The southwest side of Cedar Rapids has emerged as a key industrial growth area, benefiting from strong transportation access and available development sites. Headquartered in Madison, Sub-Zero manufactures kitchen appliances under the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove brands.
“This expansion is a major win for Cedar Rapids and a testament to the strength of our workforce and business climate,” said Tiffany O’Donnell, Mayor. “Sub-Zero’s continued investment in our community reflects the confidence global manufacturers have in Cedar Rapids as a place to grow, innovate, and create high-quality jobs.”
