Circuit of The Americas Amusement Park to Open This Summer

The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is best known for hosting an annual Formula 1 race car event. Ownership has much bigger plans for COTA. Besides the racetrack, the company is building COTA Land, a 30-acre amusement park it expects to open this summer.

The Austin Business Journal reports the park will feature 30 rides catering to different age groups. Besides the rides, there will be a 40,000-square-foot indoor dining facility called T20. There will also be smaller food and beverage vendors located throughout the park.

Management is also sensitive to customer comfort. Besides accentuating shade in the design of the park, heat-mitigating components will be incorporated, including placing misters throughout the park

There are also plans to build out a 1,000-room hotel and 460,000 square foot convention center in the area. The developer for the hotel and convention center project is RIDA Development Corp..
