Skender Breaks Ground on Arlington Heights Senior Living Development

Skender, as general contractor, recently broke ground on The Moorings of Arlington Heights, a senior living community operated by Presbyterian Living at 811 E. Central Road in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

The 172,000-square-foot project will deliver 70 independent living apartments as part of a larger campus expansion and repositioning. The new open-plan residences, designed by Perkins Eastman, will range from 1,050 to 1,900 square feet and offer one- and two-bedroom-plus-den floor plans to support modern retirement lifestyles.

In addition to senior living apartments, the new five-story building will include a new social and wellness space designed to foster daily engagement and connection. Expanded site amenities will include walking paths, a pond expansion, a sitting area and outdoor amenity space.

“As senior living communities evolve, residents expect integrated campuses that combine quality housing, dining, wellness, and long-term care,” said Brian Skender, Senior Project Manager, Team Leader at Skender. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2027.
