Small format IKEA to open at 4643 E. Cactus Road

“Small-Format” IKEA Opening in Phoenix

A small-format IKEA is getting ready to open at the Village Square II shopping center at 4643 E. Cactus Road. The smaller store will still be 75,000 square feet. It’s taking over the spot formerly occupied by Hobby Lobby.

The new look is a departure from their uniquely massive showrooms. IKEA stores typically average around 300,000 square feet (roughly five football fields) for traditional “big box” locations, with sizes ranging from 200,000 to over 500,000 square feet.

Although a smaller footprint than a traditional IKEA store, IKEA Phoenix will include multiple fully furnished room settings to explore.

In the new store on Cactus, customers can expect to learn about home furnishings and find 3,000 articles for immediate take-away, primarily consisting of home furnishing accessories and about 75 small furniture items. Larger items like sofas, beds and the entire range will be available to order online, with options for free store pickup or home delivery at a minimal fee.
