Houston Grain Silo Giving Way to Apartments, Retail
Moody National Development is converting a former grain processing plant into a high-end apartment tower and mixed-use development. The Houston Business Journal reports that the project, dubbed Silo Springs, will be a five-story, 346-unit apartment building on Houston’s west side.
Arch-Con Corp. is serving as the general contractor for the project. The development is estimated to take 10 years to complete. When it is completed, Silo Springs will feature a 2,200-square-foot café.
Amenities at Silo Springs will include a two-story clubroom and fitness room, a game lounge, a business lounge with multiple private conference rooms and leasing offices. Outside, there will be a pool with waterfall, a fire table feature, private cabanas, hammocks, a variety of tables and benches for gathering, as well as a a pet park.
Future phases will include approximately 80,000 square feet of retail, multifamily and a possible office and boutique hotel component.
