At a Connect Apartments event 10 years from now, the industry will be able to look back on a decade of growth, predicted Hessam Nadji, president and CEO of Marcus & Millichap. In a presentation on investment strategies at Connect Apartments 2025 in Los Angeles, Nadji advised the audience, “Keep the eye on the long term” while acknowledging near-term issues, such as inflation and the uncertain outcome of the current broad-based tariffs.

In the video above, Nadji provides insights on the following:

  • Why the Federal Reserve ought to have begun normalizing monetary conditions in 2021 and what the Fed needs to do now
  • How changing demographics favor rentals over for-sale housing
  • The reasons that rent control measures do not represent an effective solution
  • The coming slowdown in new apartment supply
