Aldi Building 16th Arizona Store

Aldi will add one of its stores to Southbridge Marketplace in Maricopa. The shopping center is part of a retail project helmed by Thompson Thrift. Its first phase has seen the construction of a 130,000-square-foot Lowe’s Home Improvement Store.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports that the second phase includes about 60,000 square feet of commercial space on seven acres. Along with the new 20,000-square-foot Aldi store, a 20,000-square-foot retail building will be added, along with room for a 10,000-square-foot restaurant. Two 3,000-square-foot buildings—one for retail and the other for restaurants—are also expected to be added.

Aldi began opening locations in Arizona in 2020 and now has 15 stores across the Valley. Aldi is a  German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chain operating over 12,000 stores in 18 countries.
