FuturePlay Sports Plans 141K-SF Athletic Facility in Happy Valley

A Portland-area sports startup plans to bring a 141,000-square-foot indoor athletic facility to Oregon’s Happy Valley.

FuturePlay Sports’ planned space includes indoor and outdoor courts, a weight room, film rooms, athlete lounges and a cafe, reported the Portland Business Journal. The facility would span more than seven acres and feature eight full-size basketball courts, 20 indoor volleyball courts, four sand volleyball courts, and 3,000 spectator seats. The development would also include 7,000 square feet of coworking space, including reservable desks and conference rooms.

The project aims to deliver a one-stop destination for year-round training and competitions. The team is currently working to secure land for the site. The site is expected to be selected and purchased in October. Construction is anticipated to begin next May with a goal completion date for fall 2027. The project could cost between $40 million and $50 million.
