Baltimore’s Waterfront Undergoes $3B Transformation

The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) announced that more than $3 billion has been invested in mixed-use real estate projects along the city’s historic waterfront.

Covering 231.5 acres, the efforts are being led by Beatty Development Group, MAG Partners, MCB Real Estate, and the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore. Beatty Development Group is leading the $1 billion transformation of a 27-acre former industrial site into a master-planned mixed-use community.

The Baltimore Peninsula project spans 177 acres, and the $1.1 billion development will deliver 14 million square feet of mixed-use space. Developed by MAG Partners, it includes Under Armour’s new global headquarters and a new University of Maryland business school satellite campus. Rash Field Park
is a $34.8 million redevelopment that is adding public amenities.

MCB Real Estate is redeveloping Harborplace, the 20-acre waterfront retail center, into a $900 million mixed-use destination with four new buildings, 900 residential units, offices, retail, parks, and a 2,000-seat amphitheater.
