Port Canaveral Expanding Cruise Terminal

Port Canaveral is set to expand Terminal 5 with a $69 million renovation to accommodate larger cruise ships and growing passenger volumes. The project will expand the existing 90,000-square-foot terminal to 170,000 square feet. Terminal 5’s expansion will include expanded security screening, a new VIP area, an expanded luggage area, a relocated federal inspection station for U.S. Customs & Border Patrol and more general seating for passengers.

It’s part of a $500 million long-term plan to improve the port’s landside and waterside infrastructure and expand capacity and capabilities across all aspects of its business operations.

Within a five-year planning window, the program includes large-scale, high-value critical infrastructure projects associated with new cruise ship arrivals, modernizing and expanding cargo berths and bulkheads, upgrading facility maintenance, deploying new technologies across a spectrum of operations and renovating the Port’s recreational facilities like Jetty Park.
