Fed Keeps Rates Unchanged, Divided on Future Cuts

Federal Reserve policymakers held the federal funds rate target range unchanged at 4.25%-4.50% on Wednesday. The Fed last cut interest rates in December. Since then, the clear message has been that no immediate policy adjustments are warranted, and a patient, wait-and-see approach remains appropriate amid ongoing uncertainty over the inflationary impact of tariffs and broader economic conditions.
