- CIM Group hired Matthew Borstein as managing director, co-head of credit in a continued expansion of the firm’s credit team and platform. Borstein has more than 25 years of experience across real estate investments, loans, securities and hard assets, and previously served as partner and portfolio manager at Oak Hill Advisors, where he started and led its dedicated commercial real estate business.
- Savills is boosting its Orange County office with the addition of Scott Wetzel. Wetzel joins from JLL as executive managing director and brings more than 15 years of experience to the firm. Joining Wetzel at Savills is Shara Famili as associate director.
- Savills has also hired Brett Kluewer as senior managing director in the Orange County office. With nearly two decades of experience, Kluewer joins Savills from Stream Realty Partners, where he was managing director.
- Pender Capital, an investment manager specializing in short-term, senior secured commercial bridge loans, hired Andrew Tran as CFO and Will Dyer as SVP of loan operations. Tran brings more than 30 years’ experience in financial services and alternative investment management, including nearly 16 years overseeing finance, accounting and operations at Coast Asset Management as CFO and COO. Prior to Pender, Dyer was a principal and CIO for Bay Mountain Capital, a private equity firm focused on real estate lending.
- NFP, an Aon company and leading property and casualty broker, benefits consultant, wealth manager and retirement plan advisor, has appointed Mike Hennessey as SVP, commercial P&C, specialty. Hennessey, based in San Franciso, will report to Brian Bonnell, managing director, P&C, for NFP’s West region.
- Veleta Capital, LLC, a vertically integrated real estate private credit platform focused on multifamily and mixed-use assets, has secured a strategic investment from TriPost Capital Partners, LLC, a real estate private equity firm focused on partnering with established middle-market real estate operating and development companies. The investment will support the continued growth of Veleta’s platform and anchor Veleta Fund II, a new strategy focused on structured credit for multifamily assets.
