Bastyr University Lists Washington Campus for Sale

Bastyr University plans to sell its 51-acre campus in Kenmore, Washington. Once the sale is complete or partial, the university will relocate to a new campus in the Seattle area.

The campus sits on more than 50 acres on the northeast shore of Lake Washington inside Saint Edward State Park. Berkadia is marketing the property for sale, which includes the campus along with 132 living units. Spanning nearly 51 acres, Bastyr includes a 177,990-square-foot campus complex, student housing, dining hall, fitness and wellness facilities, a historic venue, botanical gardens, teaching clinics, and a library.

The campus is located near downtown Seattle and close to major employers including Microsoft, Amazon, Nintendo, T-Mobile, Pfizer and Phillips Healthcare. Development scenarios include options for affordable, mixed-use, multi-family housing in a village-like setting with access to recreational trails and wetlands. Nearly a dozen acres of buildable land on the site could allow up to 1,000 apartments.
