Lexington Homes to Build Townhomes in Downtown Northbrook

Chicago-based Lexington Homes is bringing 25 townhomes to downtown Northbrook at Gateway. Construction site work and sales are expected to begin this summer.

Located at 1189 Shermer Road, just west of Route 43, Gateway will offer residents proximity to an array of restaurant, entertainment and shopping venues in downtown Northbrook. The community will be an eight-minute walk to the Northbrook Metra station, which provides service to Chicago’s Union Station.

“As in many areas of Chicagoland there is a strong demand for housing inventory, especially new-construction options, as there is not much available land for new development,” said Jeff Benach, principal of Lexington Homes. “Gateway will provide much-needed high-quality new housing in this sought-after area.”

Lexington plans to offer two townhome designs at Gateway, with three-level townhomes. Major retailers near Gateway include Jewel Osco and Home Depot.
