Friedman Properties Completes Renovations at River North Landmark Building
Chicago-based real estate investment and development firm Friedman Properties has completed the first phase of renovations at the Reid Murdoch Building in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.
The improvements included renovations to the lobby, corridors, restrooms and elevator cabs. The new fully furnished riverfront spec suite spans 5,388 square feet and includes a lounge and collaboration space, two conference rooms, three private offices, and 29 flexible workstations.
The second phase of renovations, now underway, includes a new amenity suite with a fitness center and tenant lounge. Friedman Properties acquired the eight-story, 320,000-square-foot Reid Murdoch Building in 1998 and completed the initial redevelopment in 2002.
Located at 325 N LaSalle, the Reid Murdoch Building was constructed in 1914 and was designed by George C. Nimmons. The property’s tenants include Whirlpool Corporation, Encyclopedia Britannica, Walton Isaacson, and Priority Sports. The building’s first-floor retail space will house an immersive theatrical experience scheduled to launch this fall.
