Hawkins Way Rebrands Newark Property as First FOUND Study in NJ
Beverly Hills-based Hawkins Way Capital, a vertically integrated real estate company with $3 billion in assets under management, has acquired the 521-bedroom University Centre Newark in Newark, NJ for an undisclosed sum. It will become the first FOUND Study in New Jersey, expand its capacity to 800 beds from its current 690 and serve students from Rutgers University-Newark, the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Seton Hall University.
Located in Newark’s University Heights neighborhood, the rebranded property is now known as FOUND Study Newark at University Centre. The property is managed by FCL Management, an operator of hospitality and housing assets in select metros across the U.S.
“The acquisition of University Centre reflects our commitment to enhancing the student living experience with well-designed, amenity-rich housing,” said Ross Walker, managing partner, Hawkins Way Capital. “Located in a thriving neighborhood, this school-adjacent property offers an efficient environment that blends comfort, community, and convenience.”
