- D2 Asset Management announced that David Brickman, former CEO of Freddie Mac and NewPoint Real Estate Capital, has joined the firm as President of Residential Real Estate. The appointment significantly advances D2’s expansion in the residential real estate sector – a key part of the firm’s broader investment strategy. The residential investment business covers both the multifamily and single-family markets and will pursue a mix of direct lending, platform investing and asset-based finance designed to increase access to affordable, quality housing. Brickman brings decades of finance and investment experience across residential real estate. He most recently served as founding CEO of NewPoint Real Estate Capital, a real estate finance company focused on the multifamily, residential, and healthcare markets, and one of the fastest growing commercial real estate finance firms in the U.S., from 2021 to 2024. Prior to NewPoint, Brickman was CEO of Freddie Mac.
- JLL added Tracy Gray to its retail team in Dallas-Fort Worth as Executive Vice President. Prior to JLL, Gray was Managing Principal at Holt Lunsford Commercial (HLC), where he was responsible for the launch and expansion of HLC’s retail presence through project leasing, tenant representation, and investment sales, specializing in clients with retail assets.
- Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC) hired John Brickson as managing director, responsible for placing debt and equity for clients. Based in Dallas, Brickson will work closely with the greater Texas MMCC capital markets team. Brickson has experience financing all property types including hospitality, office, retail, industrial and self-storage, with a particular focus on multifamily properties. Throughout his 7-year tenure as an intermediary, Brickson has closed nearly $1 billion in financing volume.
- Trez Capital named John Maragliano – a 25-year veteran in the financial services industry – Co-Chief Executive Officer serving alongside existing Co-Chief Executive Officer John D. Hutchinson. As part of this strategic transition, changes to Trez Capital’s existing leadership team will also reflect that Christian Skogen assumes the role of Chief Investment Officer. Keiju Yamasaki is appointed as Chief Credit Officer. Dean Kirkham departs the organization as Co-Chief Executive Officer & president after serving the firm since 2016.
- JPI announces Jay Parsons as JPI’s Economic Advisor. Jay joins JPI in a part-time role, bringing his vast expertise and insight to further strengthen JPI’s position as a leader in the multifamily housing industry. During his 16 years in the industry, he has held executive and senior leadership roles at Madera Residential, RealPage, and other top organizations, shaping investment strategies, market research, and housing policy while advising institutional investors, REITs, government agencies, and non-profits.
