  • Irvine-based Passco Companies, a nationally recognized real estate investment firm specializing in Class A multifamily properties, promoted Colin Gillis to CIO. Gillis joined Passco in 2015 and has since played a critical role in driving the company’s growth. In his new role as CIO, he will continue to guide Passco’s investment strategy and spearhead new opportunities in the multifamily housing sector.  
  • Sonder Holdings Inc. appointed Michael Hughes as CFO. He was most recently the CFO of Spirit Realty Capital, Inc., where he helped lead the organization’s multi-year strategic transformation and subsequent $9.3-billion sale to Realty Income Corporation. Before that, Hughes served in various leadership roles, including as CFO at FelCor Lodging Trust Inc.  
  • JLL Capital Markets announced that Matt Stewart has been appointed senior managing director and co-head of its Orange County office, which he will co-lead with senior managing director Greg Brown. The duo oversees the market’s Investment Sales, Debt and Equity Advisory platforms and is responsible for overall strategic vision for the office, including team building and growth of the capital markets business. Stewart has more than 12 years of experience in commercial real estate, having launched his career as a summer intern for HFF (predecessor firm of JLL) in 2013.  
  • Brixton Capital, a privately held real estate investment firm, has made significant updates to its leadership team as it enters 2025. Kim Masayko, previously managing director of operations, has been promoted to executive managing director of operations.  Additionally, four professionals have been appointed to Brixton’s executive committee: managing director of investments Dan Sutherland; managing director of capital markets Brad Barsily; VP of leasing Eric Li; and VP of asset management Michael Smith.  
  • CBRE announced veteran broker Ted Cuthbert has rejoined the firm in San Diego as SVP. Cynthia Carter will join him as senior associate and Sebastian Sak as associate. Cuthbert, Carter and Sak will collaborate with Chris Williams on industrial and office products across Poway. All three join from Colliers. 
  • Dunmor, a provider of bridge, fix and flip, ground-up construction and DSCR rental loans for real estate developers across the U.S., received a minority equity investment from Newfi Lending, an industry-leading non-agency mortgage lender owned by funds managed by Apollo Global Management. The investment is an expansion of the partnership announced in June 2024. 
  • Tutor Perini Corporation, a leading civil, building and specialty construction company, announced today that it has prepaid an additional $75 million of its Term Loan B debt. With this latest paydown, Tutor Perini has now successfully deleveraged its balance sheet by a total of $430 million over the past 12 months, with $320 million of the debt reduction due to the early paydown of the Term Loan B. 
  • OCVIBE, a company of Anaheim Ducks owners and Honda Center operators, are seeking a Senior Director of Development in Anaheim, CA. With a dynamic team, the Sr. Director will lead and execute the $4B mixed-use development with diverse asset types including multifamily, office, retail, concert venues, parking garages, and hospitality components. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in real estate development, with a proven track record in managing complex projects across multiple product types. Executive search firm RETS Associates is handling the search.
