TruAmerica Multifamily Pledges Relief from LA Wildfires

As firefighters across Los Angeles County continue to battle a series of deadly wildfires that have burned through thousands of acres and destroyed thousands of homes and other structures, locally based TruAmerica Multifamily is pitching in to provide relief.

“As we face this challenge together, we are offering short-term rental housing options to those that have been displaced at all of our LA-based apartment communities,” the company says on its website. Efforts to help those in need and restore Los Angeles align with TruAmerica’s mission of building better communities.

Currently those options encompass 26 properties across LA County and one in Ontario. A roster of availabilities and contact information for each property can be accessed here

In an open letter to the community, TruAmerica president and CEO Bob Hart wrote, “As wildfires continue to impact the Los Angeles area, our thoughts are with those who have been affected, including members of our extended community. The devastation brought by these fires is unprecedented and deeply saddening, and we want to extend our heartfelt condolences to all who are experiencing loss or displacement. We particularly are thankful for those who are willing to risk their lives to save others.”

The Los Angeles Times reported that the wildfires—five in all, fanned and spread by the Santa Ana winds— “may be the costliest wildfire disaster in U.S. history.”
