Washington’s Largest Pickleball Facility Planned in Seattle

Side Out Pickleball Centers is planning a nearly 100,000-square-foot indoor pickleball club at the former Pepsi bottling plant in South Seattle, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.

The facility is expected to have 26 courts, making it the largest in the state. The news of plans for another facility follows Side Out’s opening of the first Seattle-area pickleball club near Paine Field. Side Out has leased more than half of the 160,000-square-foot warehouse previously occupied by Pepsi at 2300 26th Ave. S., San Francisco-based Prologis acquired the warehouse in 2018 for $65 million.

Side Out said construction is underway, with Prologis leading design and buildout. Seattle-based Burgess Design is also listed as the architect. The Seattle club will be called Side Out Tsunami Pickleball Center in a deal with the city’s National Pickleball League team, the Seattle Tsunami. Side Out is one of several companies looking to meet the growing demand for pickleball in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
