Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland to Build New Headquarters

Edmondson Village Shopping Center (EVSC), a community co-owned commercial real estate property in southwestern Baltimore, has inked an agreement with Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland (MOWCM) to be the new location of its headquarters and Greater Baltimore production center.

“Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland is a highly respected organization addressing food insecurity, and we believe they will be an important anchor to the resurgence of the shopping center and Edmondson Village,” said Lyneir Richardson, CEO of Chicago TREND, the developer and co-owner of Edmondson Village Shopping Center.

MOWCM has contracted to purchase the vacant lot behind EVSC to build a new administrative headquarters, kitchen, and production facility. The new location will house administrative offices, food preparation kitchens, and home-delivery operations.

The new headquarters at EVSC is projected to open in 2026 and will create over 100 jobs. “The moving of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland’s headquarters to Edmondson Village is a perfect fit for this promising redevelopment in West Baltimore,” said Baltimore Mayor Scott.
