Rivermoor Completes EV Fast Charging Hub, Reportedly First of Its Kind in East

South Boston-based Rivermoor Energy and the Town of Deerfield, MA cut the ribbon on a new electric vehicle (EV) fast charging hub in downtown South Deerfield. With chargers reportedly capable of charging a vehicle in 20 minutes, the facility is the first to receive a federal Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) grant in the eastern U.S. and only the second in the U.S., according to Rivermoor.

The project was financed with a $2.46-million CFI grant. The Town of Deerfield was selected for the grant as a regional business center with easy access for regional Western Massachusetts communities and travelers along Interstate 91.

“This project delivers EV fast charging to the most rural county in Massachusetts,” said John H. Tourtelotte, founder and managing director of Rivermoor Energy. “Deerfield’s charging hub, less than a mile from I-91, will attract visitors to downtown South Deerfield’s vibrant restaurants and businesses.”

Michael Brennan will receive Connect CRE’s Lifetime Achievement Award and will participate in the Keynote Interview with Kevin Brennan, also of Brennan Investment Group. Join us at Connect Industrial Midwest 2025 on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 5, at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, IL, for this exclusive presentation!
