Self-Storage Developer Spending Over $50M on Phoenix-Area Projects

Abernathey Holdings is building three self-storage facilities across the Phoenix metro area.

The company debuted its first development in Gilbert, which opened in 2022 and has plans to build 10 more projects in the Phoenix metro. The facilities will be Public Storage-branded ventures. The Phoenix Business Journal reports each site will average about $17.5 in construction costs.

The projects under construction include:

  • A 122,757-square-foot facility with 669 units is located at 7145 51st Ave. in Laveen and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025.
  • A 111,087-square-foot facility with 745 units at 1770 N. Litchfield Road in Goodyear will be delivered by November 2025.
  • A 123,399-square-foot facility with 745 units at Higley Road and Williams Field Road in Gilbert could be done by the fall of 2025.

Following these, Abernathey Holdings also expects to break ground over the next year on a Glendale facility with 836 units, a Peoria facility with 833 units and another Phoenix location with 950 units.
