Airbnb Extends San Francisco HQ Lease Through 2037

Airbnb will extend the lease for its global headquarters at 888 Brannan St. in San Francisco through 2037. The 10-year lease includes more than 250,000 square feet, encompassing new spaces on the first floor.

“Our longtime HQ will remain an essential place to foster in-person connection and drive collaboration among our employees,” the short-term rental giant said in a statement. The company didn’t identify any brokers representing it in lease negotiations. A Newmark agency team of Elizabeth Hart, Charlie Withers and Cassidy Zerrer oversees leasing at the 454,862-square-foot creative office property in San Francisco’s SoMA district on behalf of landlord Nuveen.

In a statement, San Francisco Mayor London Breed said, “San Francisco remains a resilient and global economic force because of the innovative and collaborative spirit that companies like Airbnb bring to the city. We’re grateful for Airbnb’s continued investment in San Francisco and look forward to remaining the essential place for the company to foster in-person connection.”
