Chevron spending $66M on Houston revamp

Chevron Planning $66M for Houston Office Renovations

Chevron will spend $66.5 million renovating the interior of floors 31 to 39 of its Houston tower

Gensler is the design firm for the 214,479-square-foot project. The Houston Business Journal reports that the project is expected to get underway in late 2024 and be completed by late summer 2025. The renovations are part of a modernization of 1500 Louisiana St. tower, which formerly housed Enron and was bought in 2004.

Chevron employs roughly 7,000 people in the Houston area and will employ many more once all the employees are relocated from the soon-to-be-vacated San Ramon, California headquarters.

Elsewhere, Chevron purchased 77 acres of land in The Woodlands-based Howard Hughes Corp.’s Bridgeland master-planned community near Cypress last year. The company plans to develop a new research and development campus there, but specific details about the campus and a construction timeline were not disclosed.
