McKinney Hospitality Business Taking Off

Not only is work at the airport underway, but at least four hotels are in the planning stages or under construction. McKinney National Airport will see a 500-foot extension of the runway. That improvement and two others at the airport are part of a $24 million improvement package. Others include a rehabilitation of Taxiway A and new corporate hangars,

Community Impact reports a number of hotels are in the works. The Denizen McKinney is a four-story hotel. The boutique hotel is located in the District 121 development in south McKinney. Opening is scheduled later this year.

A La Quinta-Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham will feature about 100 rooms with a mix of La Quinta guest rooms and Hawthorn Extended Stay guest rooms. It will be near the intersection of Hardin Boulevard and McKinney Ranch Parkway, McKinney

Residence Inn by Marriott will feature a mix of studio-style rooms and one-bedroom suites

And a Tru by Hilton will be completed by November.
