HonorHealth Taking Over Arizona Steward Health Care Facilities

Earlier this year, Steward Health Care faced some financial hurdles and declared bankruptcy, leading to their facilities being up for sale. HonorHealth has stepped in to begin managing four Steward Health Care facilities and multiple outpatient physician practices while licensing and important systems are transitioned. They will invest over $250 million in the process.

HonorHealth will assume daily operations of the following Steward Health Care facilities:

• Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa
• St. Luke’s Hospital in Tempe (photo)
• Steward Mesa Hospital – Emergency Room
• Florence Hospital in Florence
• 15 Multiple outpatient physician practices

HonorHealth’s intention is to retain all Steward Health Care staff, physicians and other team members as part of the operational ownership transition to HonorHealth on Tuesday, Oct. 1, when the agreement becomes official.

HonorHealth serves more than five million people in the greater Phoenix and Scottsdale areas.
