Flooring Retailer Closing All Texas Stores

The company formerly known as Lumber Liquidators is shutting its doors. The company, now known as LL Flooring has over $110 million in debt and could not find a buyer once it went into bankruptcy. Two dozen Texas stores will close. Throughout the country, the company will close down 400 stores.

The company expects to begin the wind-down of operations beginning this week and is planning for closing sales to begin at all of its remaining stores on September 6. That store-closure process is expected to be completed in approximately 12 weeks.

Lumber Liquidators Flooring was founded in 1994 by Tom Sullivan, a building contractor who began purchasing excess wood from other companies. The company quickly grew to be one of the largest retailers of hardwood flooring in the country and expanded into Canada 2010.
