  • Northmarq has expanded its Southern California Debt + Equity team by adding SVPs Josh Galen and Sean Swift, who will source debt and equity across various asset classes and help expand our client offerings in this market. Prior to joining Northmarq, they served as principals for a private multifamily investment company focused on the acquisition of value-add and core-plus assets. 
  • The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) has named Phil Hawkins as its new CEO. Hawkins currently serves as CEO for the Pacific West Association of Realtors, one of the largest local real estate associations in California. 
  • Chicago-based Stotan Industrial has opened a new office in El Segundo. Industry veteran Will McPhee has been appointed VP – market officer of California and will be responsible for spearheading the firm’s West Coast investments, targeting the Las Vegas, Reno, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Southern California markets. He joins from Overton Moore Properties where, as VP, he oversaw acquisitions, entitlements and leasing across the Inland Empire, Nevada and Utah.
  • Trinity Investments, a U.S.-based hospitality-focused real estate investor, is further strengthening its investments team in Los Angeles with the addition of Luke Toland, managing director and head of Trinity’s newly formed debt platform, and Stephany Chen, SVP of acquisitions. Toland joins Trinity from BofA Securities, where he was a Managing Director in the Real Estate, Gaming and Lodging investment banking group. Chen joins Trinity from JLL’s Hotels and Hospitality Group, where she was the U.S. lead for the Global Hotels Desk.
  • Los Angeles-based venue and event management company ASM Global has named longtime executive Ralph Marchetta to regional VP of live entertainment. Marchetta comes to ASM Global from Phoenix Footprint Center, whereas longtime general manager and senior vice president, he oversaw all operations and services. 
  • Jamie Gaan has joined the Pleasanton office of Ware Malcomb as studio manager, architecture. He will help lead the growth and management of the architecture studio and focus on client relationships and business development. Gaan brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his new role.
  • The Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIASC) has announced its upcoming Installation Gala, taking place immediately following Southern California’s largest building industry trade show, the 2024 Building Industry Show, on Thursday, Sept. 19 at Pechanga in Temecula. The Gala will celebrate BIASC’s incoming leadership: 2025 Regional Chair and Board; 2025 BIA Riverside County Chapter Incoming President Doug Grove (RHA Landscape Architects Planners, Inc.) and Chapter Board; BIA San Bernardino County Chapter Incoming President Nolan Leggio (Diversified Pacific) and Chapter Board, and BIA Coachella Valley Chapter President Terry Kent (Crestwood Communities) and their Board.
