Merritt Group Okayed for SA Residence Inn
Merritt Development Group and Peachtree Group received the okay from the San Antonio Historic and Design Review Commission to move forward with the construction of a Residence Inn by Marriott at 100 N. Main Ave.
The current plan is to deliver 171 rooms over ten stories. The 124,000-square-foot property would have a rooftop pool and terrace, a fitness center, meeting rooms, and a panaderia. Construction is expected to cost $58 million.
Peachtree Group closed on the land in October, the second time that it had changed hands within a year’s time. It was previously owned by REM Hospitality.
BGKT Architects is designing the hotel, and Peachtree will be its owner-operator. Construction is expected to begin this fall and be completed in 2026. Merritt is also planning a similar hotel near the Government Hill neighborhood.
