Hobby Lobby to Open First Manhattan Store in Tribeca

Hobby Lobby has signed a lease for its first Manhattan store, occupying 70,716 square feet on the second floor of Edward J. Minskoff Equities’ 270 Greenwich Street in Tribeca. This lease was arranged by JLL and Katz & Associates, with Katz’s Brian Katz and Daniel DePasquale representing Hobby Lobby. Ripco Real Estate’s Peter Ripka, Andrew Mandell, and Sam Martorella represented Minskoff Equities.

The arts and crafts retailer, founded by David Green, will occupy space previously held by Bed Bath & Beyond and Barnes & Noble, consolidated into one retail location. Hobby Lobby, known for its evangelical roots, has been expanding rapidly, with over 1,000 stores nationwide and at least 160 new locations opened since 2019.

Hobby Lobby’s Tribeca store follows its first New York City location at The Crossing at the Staten Island Mall, which opened in March. The retailer aims to open more stores in the other three boroughs. The 270 Greenwich Street retail condominium, spanning 236,000 square feet, also houses Whole Foods, while the upper floors are residential.
