Fab Foundation to Establish Global HQ in Cambridge

Through a partnership with BXP, the Fab Foundation has opened a flagship Fab Lab and global headquarters at 325 Main Street in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA.

The Fab Foundation, initially an outreach project from MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms, has expanded access to advanced manufacturing in underserved communities, growing to over 2,700 sites in 135 countries. The new headquarters will be a “living laboratory” providing tools, coordinating global programs, and offering technical training and business incubation. The facility will feature a full-service Fab Lab, a Fab store, an event space, and the Fab HQ.

“BXP has dedicated this valuable central space to the Fab Foundation as a social impact commitment to Cambridge and the Kendall Square community. This project serves as a pilot, demonstrating new ways for developers to meet the needs of the communities in which they work”, said Bryan Koop, executive vice president for BXP’s Boston region.
