Fillmore Linen Service to Open First Chicago Location
Fillmore Linen Service (FLS), a locally owned industrial-scale healthcare laundry linen service facility, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its first location in North Lawndale with a goal to open another Chicago location in the future.
FLS is the anchor of the Fillmore Center, a 168,000-square-foot building at 4100 W. Fillmore St., on the city’s West Side. FLS signed a 10-year lease to occupy 50,000 square feet as the anchor tenant at the development. The ceremony will include community leaders, dignitaries, and partners to celebrate the new location’s impact on North Lawndale’s economic developmemt.
FLS will serve Chicago-area hospitals, processing up to 28 million pounds of laundry each year and creating over 175 jobs. The new location was funded through a collaboration of partners, including the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council, North Lawndale Employment Network, West Side United, Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, Chicago CRED, UCAN, and Steans Family Foundation. Rush University System for Health and Lurie Children’s Hospital have already signed on as its first customers.
