BJ’s Wholesale Club Breaks Ground on First KY Location

BJ’s Wholesale Club has broken ground on its first Kentucky store in Louisville. The new 104,137-square-foot store will be located on the site of the former Sears store at the Jefferson Mall.

Massachusetts-based BJ’s primarily had locations in New England and along the East Coast but the company is actively expanding its footprint. The Louisville store marks the wholesaler’s entry into its 21st state.

The Louisville store is expected to open in early 2025 and will create around 150 jobs. BJ’s sells produce, groceries, and a wide variety of merchandise and the Kentucky location will also have a fuel center.
