- NIA National Realty has appointed Joseph Langan as director. Langan brings over 30 years of experience in engineering, construction management, real estate development, and brokerage. He previously managed significant projects at Langan Engineering & Environmental Services and aims to expand NIA’s market share in New Jersey.
- Levin Management Corporation (LMC) has appointed Lilian Pacheco as controller. Pacheco, with 20 years of experience in financial management for real estate and construction, will work with Paul Tavaglione and Rose Meno. Previously at Russo Development, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University.
- Skanska has appointed Brian Best as Senior vice president and general counsel for Skanska USA Building. Best succeeds Clay Haden, now president of the business unit. Previously Deputy General Counsel, Best brings extensive legal experience and will oversee Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Insurance & Bonding functions.
- Federman Steifman LLP announced that real estate and structured finance lawyer L. Minnie Bellomo has joined as partner in the New York office. Bellomo, previously with Greenberg Traurig and SomeraRoad, specializes in structuring real estate transactions and financing. She will provide clients with practical legal guidance and complete outside general counsel services.
- Matthews Real Estate Investment Services has hired Andrew Marcus from Dansker Capital Group as its first capital markets hire for the New York City office. Marcus, who has facilitated $300 million in lending since 2015, joins Matthews after four and a half years at Dansker. This hire is part of Matthews’ expansion in NYC, led by B6 Real Estate Advisors veterans, aiming to become a full-service firm.
- Marcus & Millichap announced the sale of a seven-unit apartment property in New York’s West Village for $8.05 million ($1,199 per square foot), its first sale in nearly 40 years. Joe Koicim and Peter Dodge from Marcus & Millichap’s Manhattan office marketed the property and secured the buyer. The 6,714-square-foot building at 228 W. 10th St. features one retail space occupied by L’Artusi and six one-bedroom apartments.
- Avison Young is marketing a medical office building at 210 East 86th Street in the Upper East Side on behalf of the landlord, 210 East 86th Street Corp. The nine-floor, 94,318-square-foot property includes all floors available for lease, including a ground-floor retail space formerly a movie theater. John Ryan and Peter Gross of Avison Young’s NYC office is brokering the deal.
- P.J. Clarke’s is opening its fourth Manhattan location at Manhattan West, Brookfield Properties’ complex near Hudson Yards. The 7,500-square-foot lease marks P.J. Clarke’s sixth location overall. The new venue will be the largest for the chain and is set to open by late 2024. This addition joins other Manhattan West restaurants like Ci Siamo, Zou Zou’s, and Casa Dani.
- Miniso, the Chinese retailer, is opening its fifth NYC location at 150 Broadway in the Financial District. The 5,000-square-foot lease is for 10 years with an asking rent of $400 per square foot. The store will offer cosmetics, stationery, toys, and home goods, joining Miniso’s other NYC locations.
