KinderCare Learning Centers to Open Second Facility in Greater Waldorf

KinderCare Learning Centers has chosen The Shops at Fairway Village as the location for its second facility in the greater Waldorf, Maryland, area and fifth in Charles County. The child care and early childhood education facility has secured 11,880 square feet of space through a lease with MCB Real Estate and Generation Properties and plans to open upon completion of the 120,000-square-foot mixed-use development in the fall of 2025.

Headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, KinderCare provides early childhood and school-age education and care, operating in 40 states and the District of Columbia. “We know it’s especially challenging for families to find space in child care centers in the D.C. area,” said Lindsay Sorhondo, KinderCare’s Chief Innovation Officer.

The Shops at Fairway Village, anchored by Weis Markets and including 186 residential units, is located at the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and Billingsley Road. Tom Fidler of MacKenzie Retail represented the tenant, while Roger Carlson of Carlson Realty and Alli Oliver of AO Retail represented the landlord in this transaction.
