Historic Federal Building in Detroit Slated for Auction

A historic building owned by the federal government in Detroit is being auctioned off. The property at 333 Mt. Elliott Street went to the auction block earlier this month with a starting bid of $400,000, reported Crain’s. The building spans nearly 43,000 square feet and is on just over three acres.

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), which owns and manages the building, is running the auction. The United States Immigration Station property, formerly known as the Rosa Parks Federal Building, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. President Joe Biden recently signed a law renaming another federal building in Detroit as the new Rosa Parks Federal Building.
