Georgetown U. Student Housing Wins Industry Awards    

Georgetown University’s 55 H Street NW student residence in Washington, D.C., has earned LEED Platinum certification and industry awards for green and sustainable construction, including Best Use of Green & Sustainable Construction & Development and Best Architecture & Design at the 13th Annual Innovator Awards by Student Housing Business, and a Silver Award for Best Development & Design in Student Housing by MHN Excellence Awards. 

Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects with RAMSA and American Campus Communities, the building features community spaces, including study rooms, a library, and a game lounge. The top-floor amenity penthouse offers a fitness center and multipurpose rooms. The design incorporates elements like steel and glass screens and an electric water vapor fireplace. Sustainability features include a rooftop solar array, green wall, and energy-saving measures. The project team includes Georgetown University, American Campus Communities, RAMSA, and several engineering and consulting firms.
