Transwestern Brokers Showroom and Storage Lease for Abell Auction

Transwestern Real Estate Services brokered a 14,117-square-foot lease for Abell Auction Company at 6620 Telegraph Rd. in Commerce. Abell will use the new location as a showroom, to conduct auctions and for additional storage of its collection of fine art, antiques and designs.

VP J.D. DeRosa of Transwestern represented Abell Auction. The building’s ownership, the Cardinal Coate Trust, was represented in the lease by Mark Repstad, principal of Southland Commercial Real Estate.

Founded in 1916, Abell is the oldest auction house in California and remains family-operated in its fourth generation. The company has worked with the estates of actors, producers and a U.S. presidents.

“It is very gratifying to have the opportunity to work with a company that has such a deep history like Abell Auction, which is more than 100 years old and thriving,” said DeRosa. “Abell has become an institution in both Los Angeles and the international auction industry. Its expansive inventory is continuously changing and is in demand by collectors, homeowners and decorators throughout the world.”
