- Latham & Watkins LLP has added Douglas Heitner as a partner in the Real Estate Practice at its New York office. With a background that includes serving as Chief Legal Officer at Safehold (formerly iStar), a New York-based REIT, Heitner brings experience advising clients on a range of real estate transactions, including joint ventures, financings, investment sales and acquisitions, developments, leasing, and more.
- Gilbane Building Company has promoted Kate Casey to operations manager for its Upstate New York business. Casey, who joined Gilbane as an intern in 2011, has held various roles, including project engineer and project manager. In her new role, she will focus on maximizing efficiencies, exceeding financial goals, and mentoring employees.
- FirstService Residential has promoted Stuart Spiro and Brooke Rosenthal to managing directors within its New Development Group in New York. They will oversee a portfolio of luxury high-rise, mixed-use, and completed buildings, as well as consult with developers on new condominium projects.
- Taconic Partners and National Real Estate Advisors have launched leasing at The Ellery, a new luxury rental residential offering at 312 West 43rd Street in Manhattan. The development features 330 studio to two-bedroom residences with prices starting at $4,100 per month. Compass is the exclusive leasing and marketing partner for the project.
- Denham Wolf Real Estate Services, Hirschen Singer & Epstein LLP, and their client, Women’s Prison Association (WPA), have announced the sale of the historic Isaac T. Hopper Home at 110 Second Avenue in Downtown for $7.4 million. The property has been purchased by Self Reliance New York Federal Credit Union, a nonprofit organization.
- The Board of Commissioners in Haddonfield has appointed Woodmont Properties as the conditional redeveloper for an 8.2-acre parcel in downtown Haddonfield, NJ, including part of the former Bancroft Site. A public presentation of the project is scheduled for June 17, 2024, to gather community feedback.
- The Janus Property Company has announced that the LifeSci NYC Internship Program has relocated to the Mink Building, part of Janus’ Manhattanville Factory District and the Innovation Triangle – West Harlem. Developed and managed by Upper West Strategies on behalf of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the program aims to attract and develop a diverse range of NYC students for careers in the life sciences sector.
