Buckeye Industrial Park site for Blue Polymer plastic recycliing plant

$95M Plastics Recycling Plant Proposed in Buckeye

A venture combining the efforts of Republic Services and plastics maker Ravago is building a $95M recycling center in Buckeye. Called Blue Polymers, the 165,000-square-foot facility will go up in the Buckeye Industrial Park. The company paid $10.2 million for the roughly 20-acre site earlier this year.

The facility will reduce, wash and purify plastic materials into resin pellets for manufacturing packaging, such as plastic containers and bottles. It will be Blue Polymers’ second U.S. location.

The plant is expected to create approximately 60 new permanent jobs.

The design firm is Butler Design Group, the civil engineer is Hunter Engineering, and FCL Builders is the general contractor. Construction is hoped to begin late this year, and the facility is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2025. At capacity, the Blue Polymers plant will process around 75 million pounds of materials per year.
