- Raise, a real estate technology and brokerage firm, hired Michael McMillan as SVP of brokerage, based in Silicon Valley. Prior to joining San Francisco-based Raise, McMillan was SVP at CBRE and served as a senior director at Cushman & Wakefield, where he ranked as one of C&W’s top 50 office producers.
- Nextdoor Holdings, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, has appointed three additional members to its board of directors. They include Marissa Mayer, founder/CEO of Sunshine and former president and CEO of Yahoo!; Niraj Shah, CEO, co-chairman and co-founder of Wayfair; and Robert Hohman, co-founder and chairman of Glassdoor.
- As Latitude 33 Planning & Engineering expands its Southern California presence, the firm has promoted two of its top performing team members. Kyle Boyce has become the firm’s youngest principal, and Jason Gordon is now serving as a senior project manager. Both team members have been with Latitude 33 for approximately a decade each, during a time of strong growth for the firm.
- Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, has received the Organizational Excellence in Community Engagement award from the Giles O’Malley Center for Leadership at California State University, Fullerton. Presented on May 3 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine as part of the center’s 2024 Leadership Awards event, the acknowledgment recognizes outstanding Orange County or Southern California organizations that have demonstrated excellence in corporate social responsibility and community outreach.
- Student housing investor Crew Enterprises, LLC announced a corporate rebranding initiative. Aliso Viejo-based Crew Enterprises, formerly Versity Invest, was founded in April 2022 by industry veterans Blake Wettengel and Tanya Muro. The company currently holds a substantial real estate portfolio valued at nearly $2 billion in assets. Wettengel said, “We began rebranding in conjunction with the launch of our private REIT, Crew Campus, and couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds. We fully expect to be among the most active buyers and managers of campus adjacent student properties for years to come.”
- Headquartered in Newport Beach and founded in 1934, the Alison Company is celebrating its nine-decade history as one of the region’s leading commercial mortgage banking firms. In 1996, current ownership and management succeeded three generations of family stewardship. Since then, the firm has originated hundreds of loans and the company’s loan servicing portfolio has grown to more than $1.6 billion.
- Bob’s Discount Furniture and the Los Angeles Rams formed a multi-year partnership intended to serve their local communities. In addition to community-focused activations, Bob’s will be the presenting partner of the “Rams Roster Moves” content highlighting trades, signings and practice squad elevations throughout the season, as well as a presenting partner for the “Rams FanCam” site featuring photos of fans on gamedays at SoFi Stadium. The partnership also will include a co-branded “Fancave Sweepstakes”, which will give one fan a once-in-a-lifetime Rams Fan Cave makeover.
