SES Signs 35K-SF Lease Restructure in Reston

SES and SES Space & Defense have inked a 35,000-square-foot lease restructure and relocation at Reston Square, 11790 Sunrise Valley Dr. in Reston, VA. As part of the deal, SES, a Luxembourg-based satellite communications company, will consolidate operations at the Reston property, serving as one of its main U.S. offices.

Reston Square is a seven-story, 138,995-square-foot Class A office building in the Reston submarket. Renovated in 2023, it features a conference facility, tenant lounge, fitness center, bike room, and EV charging station.

SES Space & Defense has been a tenant at Reston Square since 2014. The owner, KBS, was represented by Avison Young. Cresa’s Sam Heiber and Tom Birnbach represented the tenant. Cresa represents SES globally, the firm recently represented SES in an acquisition and redevelopment in Manassas, VA.

“Consolidating into more efficient office space isn’t just about saving square footage; it’s about optimizing collaboration, creativity, and cohesion within SES’s core,” said Sam Heiber, a managing principal with Cresa’s Washington, DC, office.
