Columbia 153-Unit Mixed-Income Community Opens
Enterprise Community Partners, a national affordable housing nonprofit, celebrated the opening of Legacy at Twin Rivers in Columbia, Maryland. The redeveloped affordable apartment community offers 153 new apartment homes in two buildings, aiming to serve a mixed-income population.
Legacy at Twin Rivers is part of Enterprise’s larger redevelopment plan in Columbia, which includes replacing 300 aging apartments with 600 new homes. The development features amenities and outdoor recreational facilities. One-third of the units are reserved for lower-income residents, one-third for workforce housing, and one-third at market rate. The project was financed through a mix of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, financing partnerships, and a land swap with the Columbia Association.
“This momentous occasion of one million homes is a testament to the power of collaboration and determination,” said Shaun Donovan president and CEO of Enterprise Community Partners. “For four decades, we’ve forged partnerships and tackled challenges, all with the singular goal of ensuring every person has a place to call home.”
