Upgrade Begins on CityCentre Hotel

With a lot going on in the neighborhood, Midway thought it was time for a facelift at its CityCentre hotel, the Moran. Midway has announced a multi-million-dollar renovation, the first since the property opened in 2009.

Dow Chemical is building a 19-story office tower in the area. Considering the number of business travelers that come to Dow in Houston, it’s a fair guess that they’ll make up a significant number of those staying at the Moran. That building is slated to open in 2026.

All 244 guest rooms in the hotel are receiving upgrades, everything from light fixtures and new technology to bed linens and bar carts stocked with Texas spirits. Common areas are also getting a facelift, including a revitalized fitness center with Peloton bikes for the exerciser on the go, a new lobby bar, and changes to the hotel’s restaurant.
