Brookline Looks to Rezone Route 9 Land 

Brookline is seeking to rezone a portion of its Route 9 stretch, Boston Business Journal reported. The initiative looks to attract new commercial ventures.  

The proposed area currently houses older commercial properties, featuring shopping plazas like The Street and Chestnut Hill Square. City Realty is set to acquire the Chestnut Hill Office Park, with plans to explore development options, potentially including lab space. Brookline officials are pushing for an rezoning schedule, aiming to finalize proposals by year’s end for resident approval at Town Meeting next spring.
