The Laura Debuts at East River
Midway’s East River has opened The Laura, a five-story multifamily community of 359 apartment homes, and welcomed its first residents. The Laura is named after a 19th-century steamboat that used to float down the Buffalo River.
The building incorporates elements that nod to steamboats, railroads, and warehouses. Common spaces feature an extensive collection of one-of-a-kind artworks by local artists.
The Laura’s layout includes numerous courtyards and spaces that pay tribute to the industrial character of the area. Residents will enjoy multiple lounge areas and features like shipping containers repurposed into collaborative workspaces and a coffee bar. Amenities are located within the central portion on the ground floor and include a fitness center, pool, outdoor kitchen, catering kitchen, game lounge, dog park, pet spa, bicycle storage and workshop, package room and refrigerated package storage. The exterior of the building will also house ground-floor retail.
The Laura was developed by Midway. The project team included Munoz + Albin, design architect.
