King Street Enters San Diego Market with Spec Lab Suites

King Street Properties unveiled plans for its entry into the San Diego market via a 60,000-square-foot speculative lab and life sciences redevelopment, Mesa Labworks in the Sorrento Mesa submarket. The owner-developer plans to convert the existing single-story building located at 5825 Oberlin Dr., originally built in the mid-1980s and last renovated to creative office use in 2016. Construction on Mesa Labworks’ first two spec lab suites is now underway.

Geared toward move-in ready spec lab solutions, Mesa Labworks will deliver suites ranging from 8,000 to 15,000 square feet. The new suites, slated for completion in August, will deliver lab infrastructure within a prominent life science epicenter.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Mike Novkov, Bill Cavanagh and Brett Ward will lead leasing efforts. “We envision this new facility to provide significant ready-to-occupy opportunities for a variety of today’s new and proven life sciences users,” said Ward.
